What is the best way to show off our skills? We perform. Local music competitions are a great way to gain experience in performing. Also, there are a lot of things you can learn from other people playing that can further enhance your own musicianship. Not into the competition part? Our recital is a low-key option to perform without the stress of competing.
Here are a couple of local competitive performance opportunities that you can get yourself involved in.
Sunshine Music Festival
This festival offers the youngest music students in the Windsor-Essex area an opportunity to showcase the arts to our greater community. Students that are successful in this competition have the opportunity to be awarded music scholarships and other recognitions.
The Sunshine Music Festival is designed to build confidence and community through friendly competition, with the belief that positive performance experiences can enrich a child’s music education. By providing this opportunity in the early stages of musical development, this festival aims to create a lasting love of music performance in every child.
ORMTA Provincial Instrumental Competition
Windsor’s Kiwanis Music Festival
It’s an annual competitive event that provides an opportunity for hundreds of our area's music students to hone their skills, showcase their talents and gain confidence in their abilities through performance. This event was established to nurture, encourage and support our youth in both their personal and artistic development. The study of music is continually proven to be a stimulating and rewarding tool in the education process.
