Guitar Teacher Information
Barry brings over 40 years of teaching experience to the South Windsor School of Music. Growing up in South Windsor, Barry’s love of music began at the age of six with classical piano lessons, and he later taught himself guitar during his teenage years. His musical journey expanded in high school, where he transitioned from trumpet in the school band to playing synthesizer with the jazz band—a move that ignited a lifelong passion for electronic music.
Barry’s professional career includes performing with R&B bands as a guitarist, keyboardist, and synthesizer player. He has also worked in entertainment tour support, designing audio systems for national acts, and managed a recording studio producing commercials, CBC cultural projects, and recordings for Canada’s national audio library.
Barry teaches piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, drawing from his extensive knowledge of classical, jazz, R&B, and contemporary music to tailor lessons for students of all skill levels and interests.
